documented life project

this week's prompt with the documented life project was to recycle something in your collage.  this was right up my alley because i love to reuse things.  i was happy cutting up my magazines and incorporating elements into my art this week.

roc nicholas rubber stamps guest designer

meet coby van willigenburg.  she is the roc nicholas rubber stamp team's first guest designer.  we are happy to have her.  coby lives in a small village in the netherlands.  she has been married for 36 years to ben and they have two daughters, with partners, and 3 grandchildren, and another on the way.  coby enjoys spending time with her nearby family.

she loves playing with ink, paint and stamps. she takes as many workshops as she can because she loves learning new techniques.  it's almost two years that coby has been addicted to stampotique rubber stamps. she says this is where she discovered roc nicholas rubber stamps and enjoys using them in her artwork.

yup...that's lorraine bell from the widely successful documented life project!  i got to see her own personal dlp planner.  what a treat that was!  and speaking of the project.......

...........here is my week 8 documented life project.  the prompt was to add a flap to a flap.

joanne sharpe was in the villages,  florida  this past weekend teaching classes at she scrapbooks.  how fun to get to meet her and take one of her classes!

stampotique time

mondays sure do come around quickly these days.  here is a postcard i did for the stampotique designer blog.  i used my little church rubber stamp to make it.  i stamped it on magazine pages i painted.  then cut it out and stitched it on.  i'm quite fond of how it turned it out.  hopefully all of your important questions will be answered this year.

stampotique designer blog

it's monday once again and i've made a postcard for the stampotique designer's blog.  i used a few of my rubber stamps to create this piece:  learning to fly, roc's angel, and scalloped lace border.

i used ranger paints for the background color and added some marker color here and there.  it is all paper pieced and stitched.

today i am working on the documented life project prompt.  you are suppose to use a repeating pattern.  i guess it's pretty obvious what i picked.  i love circles and polka dots.  i still have a few things i want to do to finish it but it's starting to take shape at least.

it's time for my blog post over on the stampotique designer's blog.  today i'm bringing you another altered envelope.  i'm totally addicted to making these!  i just cannot seem to get enough of this kind of art.  i think part of it is because i actually get to send most of them to someone to brighten their day.

there is a new collaborative kit released at deviant scrap by tumble fish studio and nancy baumiller.  all images on this postcard are from those two kits.

mailing due date:  march 7, 2014

information:
this will be a postcard exchange open to all the members of the roc nicholas rubber stamp group on facebook.  your postcard will be 4 in x 6 in in size.  you will need to use a roc nicholas rubber stamp as your main image on the postcard.  you will make one postcard to send to someone and you will receive one postcard from someone.

when your postcard is finished, please upload it to the roc nicholas facebook page.  this is proof you made your postcard and are ready to go.  as long as your postcard is uploaded by midnight (EST) on march 3rd you will be eligible to play.

i will be selecting your mailing partners (if even numbers sign up) or a mailing list (for odd numbered play) on march 4th, by random name draw.  the mailing day will be march 7th, so this will give you three days to get in touch with your partner and obtain their mailing address and mail out your postcard. 

when you sign up i will add your name to the file.  if you can't see your commitment through, please do not sign up.  also, there is a chance your partner will be overseas.  if the postage of overseas is an issue please don't sign up.  we don't want anyone to be disappointed in not receiving their postcard.

on my desk today i'm putting the finishing touches (if there is ever an end to doodling) in my documented life planner.  this week the prompt was finding something on pinterest to use as your inspiration, or finding an artist you are inspired by.  i am probably the only person out there that doesn't spend time on pinterest.  so this week i just skipped the prompt and made my own art. 

stampotique challenge time

 i created this altered envelope for my post today over at the stampotique deisgner blog.  i used my rubber stamps monster for the face and for the wings i used my rubber stamp flying bird.  it's easy to use my rubber stamps to cut them apart and use bits and pieces to form something totally new and unique.  i hope you try it soon!
