a new painting

i've been working on a new painting for my house in florida. the canvas is 30 x 40. it took a few days complete and didn't end up like i initially thought it would, but over all i'm very happy with the end result.

another workshop

on march 28th i taught a class on making a journal from a manilla folder. the girls cringed when i got my camera out. they were teasing me that they weren't going to pose for me so that is why some of them wouldn't look at me when i told them to say "cheese". they make me giggle.

finally i managed to get a great group shot.

their journals turned out wonderful. it was a really great group of woman. we laughed most of the day. thanks for a really great day girls!

more workshop photos

on march 10th i taught another workshop at the she scrapbooks store in the villages, florida. this class was a large scrap journal. it was an all day class with lots to do.

by the look on patricia's face my constant time remindings may have been a little upsetting. i teased the girls that i was beginning to sound like big ben.

didn't everyone's journals turn out amazing? i was so impressed by how hard the girls worked and how different everyone's journals turned out. i was really proud of them.

my new grandson

once in a while my blog diverts from art in paper form and shines its light on a different kind of art. meet my new grandson, lukas john nicholas. he weighed in at a whopping 8 pounds 9 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. he has the most beautiful little round face. what a gift from god.

workshop photos

here are some photos from the big journal class i taught at she scrapbooks in the villages, florida, in the beginning of february. the girls that signed up for the class were all so wonderful - all true treasures. they worked hard all day long to finish their books and each one interpreted the way to put them together so differently. i was so proud of them and admired their artistic talents. i can't wait until they show me how they are filling them up and any new ones they might have made since the class!

here is michelle hard at work:

here is lori ann and lisa. they are best friends and such a riot. they had me laughing all day long.

here are sharon and nancie. they were delightful and made wonderful journals, too.

here we all are holding up our finished journals. what an amazing day full of terrific memories for me.

and the winner is.......

no one?
could it be that people didn't find the scavenger hunt to be enticing enough to enter? only one person entered a guess, although it was not the correct answer. there were 17 elements that came from my new rubber stamp line, but for the impressive effort, joanne, i'm going to send you a stamp of my choosing anyway! so send me an email with your address by the end of the week. thanks for playing!
