stampotique challenge time

it's stampotique challenge time once again.  carol has asked to create something that is spooky for halloween. i used my stamp blessed skellie to create the main focal image.  it's all paper layered and then watercolors to create shadows.  i used my stamp squiggle arms to create the breeze in the sky. the moon is from stampotique, too, as well as the owls, the fence, the pumpkins and the swirl weeds behind the fence. i used a lot of stampotique stamps to create this journal page.

stampotique challenge time

It's stampotique challenge time once again. sam has asked to create an atc.  i used my brand new stamp stacked love for the focal image, but to create the background i used design cubein stitches,  and the sentiment from the stamp tall word collage.

to create the background i used  ranger tissue scrap and then used gesso and ranger distress paint to paint over it, except for the bird.  i used stampotique stamps in soft brown to add another layer of interest.  i embossed my love stamp in black and used markers to color it in.  i stamped creative on a scrap piece of paper.  i added fringe to the bottom of the atc and secured it on the background with machine stitching.

tando - larger than life

over at tando i've created this clock using their cuckoo clock chipboard kit.  i added one of the large chipboard flourishes on the roof peak.  i used small, self-stick alphabet letters to add the quote: "the price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it".  that surely gives you something to think about, doesn't it?  i hope to make all my moments count.

stampotique challenge time

it's stampotique challenge time once again.  kim has asked to create a  birthday card. why? it is her birthday! happy birthday kim! i decided to go with more untraditional birthday card.  since i recently relocated from pennsylvania to florida and all my family lives up north i wanted to make something that had deeper meaning to send someone on their birthday.

i used glossy card stock and alcohol inks for the background.  i used staz on ink to stamp a car full on top of that once it dried.  i stamped the love travels sentiment and glued that ontop of a piece of ribbon that symbolizes the road.

if you would like to join in on the fun you can find all about the details by clicking the above link.  If you play you will have a chance to win a $30.00 gift certificate towards Stampotique stamps, and really, who couldn't use more stamps?!

stampotique design team call (SDB)

stampotique is having a design team call. they are looking for people who love stampotique stamps and want to inspire others to use them in their art creations. if you think you have what they are looking for please go over to the stampotique blog and read through the information to apply. the call is only open until the end of september so you have a few weeks to get your entry ready. i am reapplying for the next term. here are a few samples of my art:
bird princess, learning to fly, spider grass, scalloped lace border
daisy, daisy, squiggle arms, scalloped lace border, starbird, chair, love travels
flying heart, b grateful , heart vine

as part of the reapplying for the design team they want to know what my creative style is and why i would like to be part of the stampotique team. i do so many different things and use such a variety of mediums when i make art. i believe that i am known for bright color usage and creating whimsical art. as far as why i would like to reapply, i think that is such an easy answer. not only are all the design team members kind, supportive, inspiring and extremely talented, i absolutely LOVE the stampotique rubber stamps. i am truly blessed to be part of the greatest stamp company on earth. i was a fan of their stamps long before i started creating for them.
i know there will be a lot of wonderful artists applying for a chance to be on the team.  i truly hope i will remain a part of this family.  good luck to all of you who will (re)apply!
