miniature atc's
i'm in a miniature atc swap. these cards are 1-1/2 inchies by 2 inchies. the theme was portraits. all these images, including the transparent stickers are from alpha stamps. you can see their collage sheets at: www.alphastamps.com . these were really fun to make. for all the backgrounds i just painted old vintage papers ( a gift from the hostess) with acrylic paints and then stamped a number background stamp over them. i applied the collage images, added bits and bobs and edged them in distress ink and permopaque paint.

ReplyDeletethey're fab, roc!
ReplyDeleteOh, Roc - so much I want to write all at once. First, have dreaded coming in here for a visit because I knew I would walk away artistically frustrated (it's along the same lines as sexually frustrated) - get all inspired and no way to work with the inspiration at the moment! But, I'm delighted I brought myself in anyway. These mini cards are to die for! In fact, I'd let you take out your slapping fixation with me all you wanted for these! In the meantime, I'll give myself a good whack so you feel better and in exchange for all of your funny and caring (I think! hee hee) messages.
ReplyDeleteNext, love the new banner and background! Wowwee! Did you get Mar to do this for you? Or did you do it yourself? I want to know in a "I want some of that" kind of way.
And, I want to tell you I'm sorry about your nest getting emptier. I think I have told you before I dread the day it happens to me. I already feel like I am trying to soak up every minute with my kids like one soaks up the last day or two of vacation knowing the fun will come to end or a big gigantic change you know is coming is about to turn everything upside down. I can't imagine this particular feeling you are having, but I know I dread it. I also know that mom's have a way of putting themselves and their feelings aside so that their kids can follow their hearts and dreams and you are no different. You've worked very hard for many years for this very moment, this very thing, this very gut wrenching experience of throwing the kids out of the nest and testing their wings and eventually you find great joy in watching them fly and soar, greater than you may realize now. I hope that's the way it works out, for both of our sakes!
I have lots to catch up on but I wanted to give a you a big cyber hug and a big mushy thank you for being my friend and taking care of me and even for wanting me to get slapped. Only you and I might understand the affection in that!
I'll be back soon!
