paper beads
one of my good art buddies, wanda, is hosting a paper beads swap. i've made them in the past but they never really appealed to me, until today, that is. i started experimenting with different things on top of the paper and i have fallen in love with making these little things. i have a few more ideas to try and i have a feeling i'll be stockpiling many of these to use in my art. has anyone else tried making these kinds of beads?

I´ve always wanted to try these, but they are still on my future list ...
ReplyDeleteMy local art group had a charm swap a year or so ago and I made some, and wrapped them with jewelry wire. Gives them a classy finish! It looks as if you're using cording or thread? Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteoooooooooooooooh these are just fab! Hugs juls
ReplyDeleteCool beads, what will they think of next. I know you will think of something creative to do with them.
ReplyDeleteI'll be watching.
I have made them in the past, the technique I used was to wrap the paper around a cocktail stick. Yours look wonderful all grouped together. xx
ReplyDeleteDo I hear a Blue Finger Production Tutorial coming?
ReplyDeleteThese are soooo cool! Love them!
ReplyDeleteThey look great roc. Looking forward to seeing them in person!!
ReplyDeleteHi! I found your post on Google Alert...love your paper beads! Do you know about www.paperbeads.org? Neatest paper bead website in the world! Right now she is doing a 365 day challenge to use paper beads. Gorgeous things she and her partner create! My paper bead blog (I just got started with it) is at www..letitbeads.blogspot.com.
ReplyDeleteYour beads here are really cool with the string wrapped around ...I love that idea and look. I hope you will continue to love making them. It is so relaxing for me, and so far, it seems endless, the things that are being found to do with them!
Have fun!

Wow, Roc! These are awesome! I just may have to give this a try! Hugs, Terri xoxo
ReplyDeleteOoh roc, have you tried winding fibres around with the wire and then blasting with a heat gun? Can get some cool effects (as long as it doesn't catch on fire lol). Thanks for popping in to see me via OWOH. Cindy #487
